Lesson Planning for 7th – 8th Grade
Purpose:
This lesson relates the students’ own suffering and redemption to Christ’s Paschal Mystery. It seeks to connect in a meaningful way the pattern of death and resurrection to the students’ own lives, both spiritually and physically.
Focus:
This lesson asks the students to focus on the suffering of Joseph and Jesus, compare them to one another and then relate it to any suffering in their own lives. The pattern of sin, suffering, redemption and resurrection is explored, including how does the Catholic burial process show how we share in Jesus’ dying and resurrection.
